Default Towing a bike with security system

So I'm getting ready to move to TN in a couple days. I will put the softail in the back of the Penske truck and tow my car. I saw a guy towing his heritage a couple days ago and the security lights were flashing on it so it made me think. Question is, should I disconnect the negative cable or just ziptie the key fob on the bike? If I ziptie the fob will it drain the battery? It will only be in the truck for a couple of days. Thanks.

I would just disconnect the battery.

That.

Or you could manually disable the system with that ign-off-ign-off-ign-turn signals thing.. but just for extra safety, i'd just disconnect the battery.

Didnt know you could disable the system, going to have to search that one. Guess I never thought about it. Figured I would just disconnect the battery but I was seeing if anyone had other suggestions. Thanks.

Specific Instructions for disabling the security system for towing are in the owners manual.

Back when I had a 2010 Fat Bob I tried zip tying the fob to the kick stand. It didn't work and I ended up having to look up how to put the security system in transportation mode while on the side of the interstate at night. So I'd suggest putting it in transportation mode or disconnecting the battery. When you go to disconnect the battery turn the ignition on with the Fob present first. Otherwise it will think you are trying to steal it and go crazy. I figured this out after I had installed the siren and went to disconnect the battery to do some other work. I ended up having to put in some earplugs while I tried to figure out how to get the thing to stop.

I have had to move the bike a few times with my security system. I just zip tied the key fob to the clutch handle and went about it. At night I cut it off and took in the hotel with me.
