Longshots here, were on the bike when I bought it. One reason why I bought it. Love the look and the sound. If I were to change, it would be to Big Shots Long. Don't see too many around here anyway. I would consider a D&D Fatcat, but haven't heard one.
Ordered Big Shot Longs for my 13 Heritage. Looks and sounds great.
Did with a Stage 1 after 300mi. After putting 700mi on them they get deeper and louder...Love Em
Big Shots Long and Long Shots I though not only are diff size but the Long shots don't have the 02 sen's... might be wrong???
My opinion on the pipes are from the bikes that the Son had, He had BR-2-2's on a 07 Duece, and BSL's on 09 Night Train.
He put the same stg1 (SE - A/C) and cams (SE-204's) in and both of the 96''ers.
They where both installed and dynoed on the same machine one yr apart by the same PHD - HD wrench. Meaning he's among the best trained and schooled with over 25yrs exp on Harleys.
Bottom line is the BR's 2-2 completely blew the BSL's away in the under 3k rpms.. which is where we/most ride 90% of the time..
I do like the little bit deeper sound and looks of the BSL's,,, but No way would I take the hit of the TQ lost in the lower RPM's that the long pipes make.
Just me..
I'd take the BR's 2-2 or go with the BSS'ers..
Even better, If it was me, I'd go with any of the several good 2-1 pipes and have the best of both worlds.
If and when I evey change pipes they will be the new 2-1 V&Hs or Road Rage II's 2-1 system.
Long shots. Love the look and tone of
Mine. But I have the long shots hs. (They have slash cut tips instead)
I bought my Deluxe with the Longshots like shown above. Didn't care for the looks or the sound (mine is carb'd if that makes a difference and no offense to dub976, they look nice on his Fatboy). The staggered look good but if you want the long look, I'd go with the Big Shot Longs. The Longshots are individual pipes. The Big Shot Longs have a hidden cross connection. Some say this provides better scavenging of the exhaust gasses, similar to a 2-1. I've gone through many exhausts trying to find the right balance of looks, sound, loudness, and power. Next I put on the Big Radius, liked the look but the sound was too crackily. FatCat next. Perfect sound, but too loud and too low. Then stock - too quiet, and now V&H slips ons on stock Heritage pipes.
But to each his own - definitely a personal choice.
