Like Oct said, it all depends on how deep you wanna go. Mine all began along time ago with se cam, 95 kit and VnH 2-2 pipes. BUT THEN, I pulled that cam and put in my mikuni and Andrews 26 cam. Woo hoo!! What a difference. Loved that cam. Then came the SnS heads. Woo Hoooo!!! Another kick in the pants!!! Then came dyna tech ignition roller rockers, and python pipes. WOO HOOO!! What a difference. Then came a custom Jim's 6-speed transmission, which allowed me to pull the Andrews 26s and put in the Andrews 55g cam. (Which I picked up about 43 minutes ago) and WahooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Just finished installing Harley SE 203 cams. Although an improvement over stock, they are not the bang for the buck I was hoping for. I want a cam set that provides higher torque and performance, Just Off Idle and through Mid Range without sacrificing top end. Recommendations?
Andrews 21's for a lil more low, 26's for a lil more later in an 88". imo changing out the 203's with another cam is not worth the hassle or money at this point. When I added 21's the bike felt like it ran better. Adding the 2n1 made it mo better. The two combined made for a very nice improvement. Keep in mind I had vh bss prior to the 2n1. Like mentioned, money will get you there and the skies the limit. Just depends on your wallet. Rather then spending hundreds on another set of cams, I'd spend it on a 95" kit or 2n1. Then you may need to spend more on a tune.

Andrews or Woods. I'm quite sure if you do a search you'll find plenty of threads, and there's many many dynos in the sticky, as mentioned. Do your homework this time and seriously consider going to 95". That will give you the bang for your buck you're looking for.

Cams? What a great thread this is and I have been following this one close and here is why. I just DO NOT GET CAMS! I will let my ignorance shine through here before God and Country! I don't get them, I don't understand them and I don't know which cam to pick when I want to one way or another. I guess I could sit here and try to make myself look wiser then I am but why? It's my weekness and I can admit that. So, having said all that clue me in on this. You can read below what all my bike engine has and what my bike's engine don't have. I also have the SE 6 speed in it. I bring this up because I am going to true dual 42" cholo's this winter, baffled. I talked directly with a Samson tech the other day and he said with the baffled cholos I will loose a very slight edge on torque. He said if I go with straight pipes, non-baffled I will loose a slight amount or hoprsepower. I have to take him at his word on that. He also told me with what all I have done to my motor he said I might not even be able to tell the difference by the seat of my pants. He said it might show a small loss on the dyno but barely. So, if I were to loose a small amount either way, could I then fix that or make up for that loss with another cam? I don't know, thats why I am asking.

That is a nice combo except for one thing. You used an HD tuner and if you had it dyno'd it was probably by a dealer. They still follow the EPA requirements so you aren't getting all the power you could be getting and I would think that this is in the neighborhood of 5 h.p. more or less. You can always go out and spend a grand on an aftermarket ECM and $350 on a dyno tune for that extra 5 h.p. ...
