Another thought, fuel filter, is it clean?
Enough fuel gets through when at idle but not enough at higher RPM's.

+1. Start with the basics... sounds like it's getting air & fire, so I'd concentrate on the fuel. Swapping spark plugs could be a simple option to go with, but other than that, fuel is the 3rd requirement. Pinhole leaks in the gas tank, clogged fuel filter, etc, could be a big culprit.

I'd definitely check those types of maintenance issues before I start pulling engine parts off.

eliminated all fuel issues, emptied fuel tank, checked screen and it was clean, tightened pingel reinstalled. Finally bit the bullet and put on a daytona twin tec....all was fixed.

my son n law had this problem on his Dyna... turned out the neg battery cable wasnt tight enough... seemed ok but by the grab and wiggle test, but after a good cinching found it was slightly loose and problem solved...
