I know the Rush Crossovers are not a brand new pipe, but I have just come across them for the first time. Look just like the V&H BSS, and even have the crossover/power chamber for better low end. Curious if anyone has a direct comparison of the two from a performance standpoint. Not worried about sound - I know either will be loud enough, but am wondering if the ceramic coated Rush pipes add much to power? Rush's ad on the pipes does not even mention the benefit of the coating keeping exhaust gas hotter and moving faster - just states better heat dissipation and non-bluing pipes.
I had V&H BSS on my bike when I first bought it and the bike ran great with strong acceleration with the 204 cams. I have been told my last couple exhausts may be overexhausting and flowing too much, causing me to lose a little power down low. Since I had the BSS removed, I have done quite a bit of engine work and am tempted to try them again or Rush - if I got a nice power bump over what I had with the 88", 204's, and BSS, I would be happy. Also considering V&H side shots - do they perform similar to BSS? Seen a video of a bike set up similar to mine with phatail kit on YouTube, and I think the side shots look real nice on the bike. Any input is appreciated.
I can't give you a comparison but I really like my crossovers. Power and low end are good with them. And they do seem to run a bit cooler. Oh and I have to give a shout out for Rush customer service which is second to none. You won't regret them if they are your choice.
Thanks - any chance you've dyno'd ur bike? Curious if these pipes have a dip in torque. I know every bike setup is going to be different, but it seems some pipes consistently have a dip at certain rpm's.
Nope no Dyno yet. For me the bike runs fine with just the PCV that I have tweaked a bit but as far as I can tell it pulls hard all the way up to 100+ in 3-4th gear when getting on it going up the on ramp.
If you want performance you might look into a set of 2-1 pipes. We have the Bassani Road Rage 2-1 on our bike and I could feel the difference right off, it is still in stock configuration.
