I'm thinking he used the plastic tubing to protect/insulate the brake line by running it (brake line) inside the tubing. Those bars have sharp inside edges. Right Jay?
I thought the same thing but he stated the plastic tubing was 3/16. That's very small. Maybe he meant 7/16?

Thanks for the info. I believe I've found how I'm going to add a mechanical oil pressure gauge to the fairing of my 08 Ultra.

The line is plastic, dont know exactly what kind but its made specifically for brakes. Used it on my chopper for over 5 years and never had a problem with it, thats why I decided to go ahead and put it on my softail too. It is a 3/16" line, the brake feel didnt change at all when I switched from the braided line. So far so good but its one of those mods no ones really gonna notice but thats the whole point, that its not there. Great mod for the price.
Looks good Midgard thought about removing my idle cable till I do a internal throttle too one less cable to have to look at. Heres a couple more pics of the line.
