Default bye bye brake line

Just got rid of my ugly brake line coming from my handlebar to my abs unit. Ran a 3/16 plastic line in the handle bar and down the frame, it looks 10 times better now. Just need to do a internal throttle and new switch housings now. Sorry for the crappy pics ill get some better ones later.

Jay

That looks good. I have wanted to do the same thing. When you post more pics, can you include some where the line connects to the ABS controller, and how you routed it at the bottom of the bars. Thanks. That is a good looking bike.

Are you sure it's suitable as brake line?

Must say it cleans the bars up nicely.

Do you mean Poly tubing?? You may want to rethink that. That's the kind of stuff we use at work for air lines. I'm not sure what it's burst pressure is, but I'll bet a good brake system will exceed it.

Brakes are the last thing I would muck-up with plastic, even on someone else's ride.

Lots of guys have done the tubing bit in their fronts without issue but I'm still not sure about it. With 1 1/4" handlebars I think you could get away with -3 braided line also, but not as easy.

Looks great and certainly worth the effort.

I'm thinking he used the plastic tubing to protect/insulate the brake line by running it (brake line) inside the tubing. Those bars have sharp inside edges. Right Jay?
