Thnx Jay

Quick semi off topic ? - Like you, I also have my strut bolts on the inside of the fender - I am worried when I get the Shotgun on and slammed that they will rub - how did you avoid that?

thnx - Todd

Looks nice and clean.

Mid, how wide is your tire and how much clearance is there now between tire/fender? I've got the same rear fender/struts as xjayx (and so do a lot of other guys) and even with the shocks slammed, there's probably more than 1/4" clearance to the bolt heads.

Its a 200, I can tell by looking that if it is slammed right down the bolts will touch. if I am not on bike there is probably 2.5"
I want to be able to slam it and have the fender hug the tire like Jays - if I have to adjust where the fender is bolted up -- no problem main -- conern is the inside bolts rubbing the edge of tire - looks like I need to "shrink the bolts" 1/4"

The bolts I have for that fender are button head allen bolts, there not very thick and theres at least a 1/4" of clearance for the tire. I would try the button head allens if you've got hex bolts in there now.

Look it up, its a fully modular system...you could do anything with this stuff.

thats the image that ran through my head.. lol..

I looked up the russel line.. it says its not DOT approved. though rated at 1200 psi, i'm not sure i would be completely trusting of it.

"For the custom bike builder who desires to custom fabricate small diameter lines using semi-rigid colored nylon tubing. Pro System II hose allows for maximum flexibility and eliminates the problem of hose abrasion to painted surfaces. Available in red and black to accent a bike's paint scheme. Rated at 1200 PSI. Nylon hose does not meet D.O.T. specifications. Use with Pro System II chrome hose ends. "

Jay, that things comin along nicely! Now for an internal throttle and a GripAce to get those bars all cleaned up!

And for all the doubters of anything not tested by the govt..... I've been running the same line on mine for about 4k miles, no issues at all. This company specializes in brake systems, and has for many years. This line meets their specs for use as a brake line, and that's plenty good enough for me. Great stuff, super versatile and real easy to work with. Comes in a roll, can be cut and fit however you like with many different compression fitting options. It can be lightly heated and bent, and will hold the bend when cool. Sure, it's not DOT approved, but I could care less if some govt agency tested it or not.

Here's a quick pic of mine before I pc'd the bars so the line is more visible:

that is what makes it non-DOT compliant. other then manufacture assembly, compression fittings are not allowed on brake or fuel systems.

With two independent braking circuits I dont see a huge risk.

I guess these lines are as good as you put them together
