Default Removed front fork lowering springs...

Well, I've been contemplating removing my front fork lowering kit for a while and finally bit the bullet and did it this weekend while doing my major service.

I had the Progressive drop springs in for a few years now and enjoyed them...but have been wanting a more tail-dragging look when running down the pavement.

Before...with the 2 inch Progressive drop installed and the *** slammed...

After...stock springs reinstalled and the *** slammed...tail-dragger!!! The rear pipes went from a little more than 2 inches off the ground slammed to less than an inch now...

I loved the total slammed look, don't get me wrong...but you know how things go with our bikes...it was time for a change......all this one cost me was a couple hours of my time, some elbow grease, and 2 pints of fork oil.

The bike rides a lot softer back at stock height...much more slush in the suspension up front.

Anyway, for those of you on the forum rolling a Heritage or Deluxe with a 21 up front and a Shotgun Shock (or any other air ride for that matter) and are curious how your bike will look slammed with lowered or stock front end setup, this should give you a good idea of what to expect.

Bike looks awesome JayDee. Either way, before or after, it looks great. I'll be doing a one inch drop up front this winter so i'll be in the middle of your before and after. Of course my bike isn't as nice as yours but it's getting there slowly but surely.

Sometimes I really wish I could just leave the damn bike alone and just ride it like it is. But then again, it's fun to change **** up every now and then.

Bike looks good as always.

That 1-inch gap between the ground and your exhaust is quite tight. I guess you'll be paying much more attention to driveways now. No more wheelies? HaHaHa

God Bless JD and Shotgun Shocks...just a flip of the switch and no scraping for me! I am more carful riding slammed in general though...The tips of the longtails are a lot closer to the pavement now when rolling slammed.

I've been riding with the front dropped for so long I forgot how soft the stock ride was.

So far, I'm pretty happy about going back to stock height...and so is the old lady. That stock front suspension, combined with a just-lower-than-stock and soft shotgun setting, really makes for a comfortable ride.

So far so good...

Looks good both ways. You sort of confirmed my concerns about lowering the front (harsher ride). Don't think I want to go there myself. Not with the roads around here.
