Regal, here is the 5 3/4 bucket with a focal 6.5 speaker midwoofer/tweeter combo.
I basically have to shave off about 1/4 inch off of the mounting bracket to fit in there
snug. Should have it back in a few days and post some pics after mounting is complete.

 

I'm getting 5.25's so I'm gonna have to figure out which bucket. What trim rings will you use?
What about a grill?

And how do you mount them to the crash bar?

 

Yea sorry bro, don't know what will fit in the 5.25 buckets. But make sure to stick with the teardrop buckets so there is enough room in the bottom to fit the magnet. On the more rounder buckets there wasn't enough room at the bottom to fit the speaker magnet. As far as trim rings,I'm trying to stick with the thinner stock one that came with the bucket so it doesn't look too obnoxiously big with the extended trim ring. I have the harley part number for the extended trim ring but again, it is specific to the 5 3/4 bucket, don't know if it will fit the 5.25. The speakers came with the mesh grill that I'm going to use just didn't take the picture with the grill on. And as far as attaching the buckets to the crash bar, they have the 1inch clamps for use to clamp on any 1 inch bar.

 

I have a hog tunes system on my ride and its been there about four years i was one of the first to mount speakers to the engine guards and installed the amp in side the head light nacelle. Cant hardly here it when riding great when hanging out and having a coffee. I do not know how big the boom amp is haven't seen one yet claims 300 watt mines only 50. I would be interested in the out come with a good set up for the boom.

 

Hey Regal, ok so far here is the finished product more or less. 5 3/4 buckets with 6.5 focal midwoofer/tweeter combo. Also have foam/dynamat in the bucket to help with unwanted rattles. My buddy was able to use the stock trim ring that came with the bucket as opposed to the extended trim rings. I think it looks better and doesn't look too obnoxiously big.

I also found out the guys that sell the buckets are using klockwerks fairing mesh grills cut to fit. They're $30 on eBay.

And where do you plan to hide the amp? I had a rf amp and I think you could squeeze it in a nacelle. Without bags there's really no place to hide it. Tool box? I'd say maybe under the oil tank but not if you have a compressor there for a shotgun shock.

 

Headlight buckets are midwest part # 8-152. The grills are the stock ones that came with the speakers that were trimmed to fit. And the buckets come with the thinner trim rings if u can make those fit and save some cash as opposed to the thicker rings which run an extra $30 a piece. The amp is the next hurdle. Worse case scenario my bike guy was thinking a custom case towards the front of the bike above the oil cooler. With vents to get good air flow since its in the front. I have shotgun so the compressor takes space behind the engine. Still trying to see but with no bags, my space is limited

 

That's way too long. And boom audio is junk. Trust me, I install sound systems on bikes. Shouldn't take more than 2 hours, unless you're a hack. Also, you should go w/ cycle sounds. Way better speakers that will last longer and sound better. They also look a lot better on the bike than boom, most people don't even know I have them until I turn 'em on.
