Boom Audio
No worries on the info, glad I can help. I am happy to say my stuff is done, looks and sounds kick a$$. I'm on my phone and have a hard time attaching pictures to the thread on my phone. I have had a few people asking me for updates via pm's. I uploaded a few pictures on my deluxe photo album. Take a look. I'LL try to attach photos on the thread itself tomorrow.
Ok, well made it home from a small time away. Again, a few folks sent me pm's on any updates regarding my made up stero system. Just a quick synopsis on items used.
First were Focal 6.5 mid woofer/tweeter combo. Since others like me lack fairings and bags (by choice by the way) our options are limited in regards to a speaker/radio system. Only real options are handlebar speakers or engine guard speakers. So I decided to go by way of the engine guard speakers mounted in teardrop headlight buckets.

Only issue is the outer mounting rings have to be trimmed in order to fit good in the buckets. Also the teardrop headlight buckets have enough bottom space for the speaker magnet to fit. The pictures above is the speaker completed and fitted in the headlight bucket with the mesh that comes with the speaker.
Next was the amp. Again due to space due to lack of bags and a fairing, space is limited. I decided on the Rockford Fosgate Punch amp which is actually pretty small. Its just slightly bigger then my son's Nintendo 3DS. Another issue was amp placement. After riding for 2-3 hours, any area around the engine was blazing hot, which could potentially overheat the amp if placed remotely near the engine. So, my bike guy, a smart gentleman, was able to mount it in the side mount toolbox with modification. As well as a few holes for air flow and heat dispersement.

Closed, with amp inside. It actually worked out perfect cuz I have a IPOD straight to amp hookup which charges the IPOD at the same time. So it had to be hooked up to the battery and it was just a straight shot from behind the toolbox to underneath the seat. Also worked out well cuz I have the IPOD connection and auxilary cable running from the amp to underneath the front of my seat. So the IPOD connection and auxilary cable stick out slightly underneath the front of my seat. I have my IPOD clipped to my gas bib and I can control it on the fly
