Default Mean City Seats

I wanted to take a minute and give a shout out to Mean City Cycles and their seat work.

Our bike came with a seat that had been modified for a very short, light rider. I am neither very short, nor light. I have been dealing with it, but paying the price after long rides. I contacted Mean City to make sure they could "de-modify" the seat and do some work on the passenger seat by adding memory foam into both. All phone conversations were awesome, work was done when promised as promised, total cost $230 including shipping. The seats were gone a total of 7 days, and that is because I sent them early due to the Christmas Season(They actually schedule your exact seat modification date).

We just got back from the local polar bear ride and we are extremely happy with the work. Both of the seats are way more comfortable than they were, and no residual pain in my backside. Definitely a success.

I post this because it's nice to get what you pay for on time and we all have seen the negative threads that generate when we get shafted. I can also tell you from this experience that if you want to improve your ride, but don't want to pay for a new seat, these folks are a good option. I don't want to put a bunch of money into this bike anymore as we will most likely upgrade when I get back from a deployent that will begin this spring.

Jimmy
