Being a "Chrome *****" does come at a price, that's for sure! People say I am crazy and get on me sometimes but to do a complete job on my bike, wash, dry, wax and detail is a solid 8 hours. I enjoy it at times though and it's nice to have people gather around it when I pull up to one of the Ol watering holes!
I'm with you, although still not motivated enough to spend 8 hrs cleaning my bike. I do however admire those who are passionate enough to do so. :-)
Yea trooper50, it is a bit extreme but then again what use is it to have chrome and have it filthy, dirty, water spots, greasy looking or bugs all over it? On any given day I could roll my bike out of the garage and put it right into a bike show and not have to touch it. Dirt, filth and dust is just not allowed on my bike, period. I have had Harley's since the mid 70's but this is the bike I have always wanted and waited for. My kids are raised, I make a good buck at work, I have little or no bill's and I can finally do what I want and when I want. I just put my bike in the shop yesterday to start with my winter mods list. For a bit there I had to cancel my entire mod list do to some family issues but then the good lord smiled down on me and not only can I now do my mods I can do them all and pay cash for all of it so that it creates no bills for me to deal with. I have been told that this next paycheck of mine will be the largest check ever taken out of my plant by an hourly person since it opened and started up in 1969. Life is good! I would say how much it will be but it's almost obscene. Also, I have already been told by a few here that because of what I made it is people like me who's fault it is that companies go to China, taking work away from my fellow American's. That, of course, is bullshit but that's what I was told!!! By the way trooper50, you too have a very sweet looking bike. I see SO many sweet, nice bikes here and I love them all but DAMN are you guys costing me a **** load of money!! As soon as I think I am done I see something else on here that would just look tit's on my bike and out comes the wallet! I am excited about these winter mods I am about to do and I can't wait to roll it out of the garage to see how it looks, how it sounds and rides.
Looks great. Did mine a couple weeks back, glad it didn't take me 8 hrs though. One of the good things about a Night Train.
True,, several yrs back when the Son had a NT.. we'd pull our bike in the garage and by the time I got all my chit out to start, I'd look over and He SAY.. ALL done DAD... with a big smile on his face..
