Just picked up a 2013 Softail Slim Custom which was modded exactly the way the 2013 parts and accessoried catalogue shows in the first few pages.
This was done by thr dealer and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it
It also has the stage 1 done by the dealer.
I am looking to replace the Screamin Eagle that was added as an aftermarket by the dealer and have my heart set on either the 2-1 or 2-2 big radius in matte black.
What model do you guys think complement the raw bobber style of the slim???
BTW, most of my bike's accessories were witched to either high gloss black or matte black, so the pipes naturally have to follow suit.
Honestly, neither imo. I don't think the big radius pipes have the look you are going for. A set of shotgun drag pipes, a nice straight 2-1, something like that would look better than either big radius
Pretty bike, man. You really don't have to change a thing. But if you do, I have an outta the box suggestion to keep that bobber look going. The blacked out version of Sampson fishtails:
Honestly, neither imo. I don't think the big radius pipes have the look you are going for.
Agreed. Big long curved pipes don't suit the bobber them that you're trying for. I think V&H Sideshots would suit the bike better. Plus, I don't know how it is in your area, you never see the Sideshots on bikes that often.
Thanks for the comments guys please keep em coming!
I actually agree with the Big Radius style not really complimenting the 40's look my bike is going for, but I just can't get my eyes off them, they look and more importantly sound, amazing!
Regarding the short stops, looking at the V&H website, I don't think they make em for the 2013 slims, or is that just a glitch??
It's definitely a popular set of pipes, there are dozens of sets at every bike night. That said, I think you need to get what you really want. Whether or not they fit the "style" of your bike is immaterial, what counts is that you love the look in the end.
IMO, nothing beats the look of 2-2 pipes, regardless of the style. Haven't found a 2-1 pipe that I like yet. So my vote is for 2-2.
