old style quart can spout the style that punched a whole in the can
from the 70's i push it in the bottom of the filter and let it drain into the pan then use a blue scott towel under filter to catch small drips wait a couple of min. then spin off filter
I use this one all the time works great. Punch a hole in the filter with the nail first & let it drain down the slide. Then take the filter off when most of the oil is in your pan. The rest will just feed down the funnel when the filter is removed.
If U think punching 1 hole in the filter works good, try punching a hole at the top and another in the bottom in the end of the filter.. The oil will run out even faster.
I just got the HD funnel. haven't tried it yet, but the son did. He said to make sure U leave Ur bike on the Jiffy stand while draining it.
Still I put a bunch of old Newspaper on the floor to catch any over spill..
Heres Another item I got for Christman, a new 3 finger filter remover from Sears, again I haven't tried it yet. but It look like it will be a good one and the reviews was almost all 5 stars.
Still not sure if it will turn enough to loosen before hitting the sensor on our Harleys though.
If it don't work on the bike. It surely will on the cagers.???
Perfect and many examples of Harley guys solutions to the same problem. I am a Chrome *****, neat bike freak, nothing allowed on my bike, no bugs, dust, nothing! My Indy doesn't even like working on my bike when I need something I can't do, have the time to do or the tools to do. As for the oil changes? Even I gave up and I just let the **** fly and clean it up when I'm done, in detail mind you. I also get slammed twice every oil change because I opt for the 100% clean oil change and use the oil scavenger each and every oil change too. I know, I know, I have issues!!!

I punch a hole at 12 and loosen the filter to 6. Either way will work. I also use k&n filters with the nut. They make it simple.
