That's why the manual states as part of the supplies necessary to do an oil change are cardboard and rags/paper towels.

I get it but when you loosen the filter it breaks the vacuum from the loose threads. I'll give the double hole a try next time.

Not from a half a turn. And the funnel slides all the way in. I've used it this way a dozen times and a couple of paper towel wipes is all I need.

I also use the HD brand and it works great...no mess, catches all of the oil when I remove the filter.....also use the HD brand for the primary....what the heck....it's all good what ever you use.....I have used some of the home versions mentioned already but the HD brand will last a lifetime......
