Default Samson cholos and performance issues????

I have a 2013 Deluxe and really like the Samson Longtails, But i'm having some reservations about putting this pipe on. I have never ridden a bike with these pipes and thought i'd ask about the performance or lack of..... I love the look and the sound. I have been reading a lot on the forums about looks and sound, but I can't find anything about performance. What should I expect. Sound and looks aside, can I get some honest performance reviews? And I'd also be grateful to know what length you're running, if your bike is baffled or not, and if you have torque cons or not. Also, what tuners and air cleaners are being combined with this pipe?
Thanks.

A buddy wanted to put duals on his 2001 Heritage. A couple of dealers told him no.
A third told him they would install them, but the reason the other dealers didn't want to install them is a loss of about 15% power.

Looks and sound is the only reason why I bought mine. If performance and speed were an issue I would of kept my sport bike. But would an average person really feel a difference of about a 10 to 15% loss of power and really have a need when 99% of use is on the street. More then likely you will need to remap with a power commander at least. I mean no disrespect but I didnt buy my deluxe to race, to run laps, or tow anything. But if performance is a real big deal breaker for you, then thats something you need to take into consideration.

I had my 2012 Deluxe re-mapped when I had the (36") cholos fitted. Result: An extra 15bhp - goes like **** off a stick! Can't believe the transformation.

As an aside, most British dealers will bad mouth Samson pipes in general, because they don't stand to make as much as through their tie-up with V & H.

Get the Samson pipes and have the bike mapped properly by a good Indy - you won't regret it.

I'm about to find out myself. I am sitting here in my living room looking at a box thats holding my 39" cholos and I got the pipes with the removable tips and baffles. I have a SE race tuner on my bike and even though some have told me I won't need a retune I am going to get it done anyway. My motor is not stock and I want to get all I can out of my money that I can even though I just cruise 95% of the time. The guy thats going to do my tune tells me I MIGHT loose a little on paper but he doubts I will lose enough to even notice it in the seat of my pants the way I have my bike set up. He is also going to cut my baffles for an optimum tune and if I ever decide to pull my baffles and run them straight that I would not have to worry about another tune or loose much of anything if I do. He also will not tune my bike with the EPA in mind, like most dealerships have to do, I think, so I'm really not worried about loosing anything. I guess I'll know for sure here in about a month, 6 weeks. I will post up the numbers when I get them.

I run the 42s on my 03 Heritage Springer, with the 88". I didn't notice a big loss when I had installed them, and I have not added a tuner, yet.

The bike takes all the beating I can give it with ease. Cams this winter will help for sure, and a tuner will provide all the power I need.

FWIW, I rarely scrape my pipes, even at 42" length. They are the ones with the removable tips/baffles, and I run without the baffles.

15% loss in power over the chocked up stock exhaust? I say bu!!****!!!! I run the non-baffled 39's on my bike and if anything it runs better than it did with the stock system.

If you are going from stock and you do stage 1 air cleaner and add a tuner, you will get more performance than stock. You can get a bigger increase from a 2into1 exhaust but you sacrifice looks. It all depends on what you want. Ive read tons of threads on here and have never heard anyone say they wished that they hadnt installed the samsons.
