Question about using '09 SE mufflers on '10 Heritage
The part # I'm looking at for the SE's is #80495-07. Harley online dealers describe the fitment as:
"Fits '07 Softail models equipped with shorty dual exhaust and '08-later 49-state Softail models with shorty dual exhaust."
I'm guessing they stopped selling them because of catalytic converters for '10 and above but does that mean they won't work on a '10?
If they will work can I use them as a bolt on and be done with it or would there need to be a tune involved, etc?
Thanks in advance for any help.
They will give U a couple more HP and TQ, but everyone I know that bought them was sorry they did and replaced them within a few months..
As far as tuning on only a muffler change,, NO U wont have to do anything.. BUT I and several Thousands of others in will say that doing the Usual and normal STG1 will do and help Ur bike a LOT...
I'll say that after I did the Cams.. that I and others who do Cams CANT believe How much diff it makes until they do it.
STG 1 and Cams will make Ur Engine last (IMO) probable 2x's the normal times and miles just because of the tune and cooling of it that the mods will do.
This claim is still depending on one doing Good Maintenance and ridding with some Sense.
Doing burn outs and winding out to 6k rpms all the time is not Ur friend on a Harley for a long lasting bike...
6 yrs and 41k on our Bought new 07 Heritage and she just keeps running Stronger every YR..
Only problem I had so with this bike is as Hole in the Gas line two summers ago at 32K, and I needed a new battery last spring.
Of all the bikes I've had in my 47 yrs of ridding. By far and away this is the best one Ive had
