Even the addition of LED turn/running lights on the front make a huge difference. You can tell the difference between my bike with the custom Dynamics and the wife's without.

No, HID's can not be used with a modulator, but side by side the HID wins hands down for getting peoples attention. I was going to put a modulator on my bike too. I was sold from reviews and such and ordered one. But after seeing a few out there and then seeing the HID, I choose the HID. The modulator does make you more visible, but it seems to confuse some people. When they see the HID they tend to stare at it like a deer caught in the headlights. The color seems to make a difference too. I have a 6000k which is bright white with a slight blue. 8000k is just a little more blue. Both seem to get attention equally well. Any more then 8000k is way to blue and less then 5000 starts to get yellow. I think the 6000k is the sweet spot. And wow what a difference at night!

That looks like quite an improvement. Is that a white array under an amber lens, or amber lights under a clear lens?

Yep, more visible that's the key phrase.
More visable.
As far as those being confused by it, I'll take my chances with those odds as opposed to a 20 year old texter, who can barely focus on anything other than their little 4x3 screen.
I ride more in the day time, so it makes sense to use the modulator, as I want to be seen.

Those are the amber lights under the smoked lens.

The leds work great with amber spots if you change your mind and decide to add an aux light of some type.

Harley now offers a modulator. Easy install.

I like the modulator myself. The visibility DISTANCE of an HID/LED may be a much greater distance, but a modulator in an oncoming lane on a 8-lane highway attracted my eye cross multiple lanes of traffic during a commute in the car. For me, that was priceless.

You can't cure stupid. Driver's like that also don't "see" HIDs, and a bunch of other excuses. Nor read their driver's ed. manual. It's scary for all of us.

Really dude? Well, we all have choices. Someday a modulating HID/LED will be available. That would be nice.

Not knocking HIDs but confusion does mean you've been spotted.
