Default crossbones ignition switch

Hey all..

My crossbones.. typicall I turn the ignition switch to the right, hit the thumb on button and hear the nice sound of the fuel injection doing its things before i hit the start button...

i noticed this evening, the ignition switch, i turn to the far right and i have to slight turn it to the left a touch before i get the neutral light and EFI sound.. almost like jiggling the toilet bowl handle.. im thinking i need a new switch.

Thoughts? Part #?

Pull the dash, make sure the contacts on the connector are clean, put some dielectric grease on the connection points and see if it helps. If the wiring and the connections are solid and the switch is still problematic, you can disassemble the switch and check the internal contacts, clean and grease. If all this fails, I believe the part number is 71450-04. Here is a link to ronnies microfiche

You can take it apart and fix it.

I've had several ignition switches fail. I now carry a spare in my saddlebags. JP Cycles has them for around 60 bucks.

I took it out last night and blew the connectors and internals out with compressed air. Seems to have done the trick. When i turn the ignition to the right there is not "wiggle" any longer. Guess ill keep my eye on it..

thanks!
