I sold my 07 Streetbob this fall to buy something different. I want something I can go on a long ride in comfort but still take the windsheild off for the hot days and town cruises. I'm stuck between a Deluxe or Road King.
I don't do much 2 up riding and the 07 deluxe I'm looking at has a detachable windsheild and Road king hard bags on it already so its ready to tour on. What is the ride and handling difference between the two?
I say Deluxe if your not racking up tons o highway miles, youll like the manuverabilty not to mention the look of it over the roadking and when you want to go intersate the deluxe can take you where u want no prob. Good luck.
Road King is probably going to ride and handle a little better but the Deluxe will do both pretty well and look better doing it. Seeing you found a Deluxe ready to tour I'd lean that way.
If you are over about 5-9, you will be swapping out the very uncomfortable seat on the Deluxe because it pushes you way forward. Great looking bike, but you need to take that into account. SJ Ron

True unless you have short legs. Then It should be fine. I'm 6' - no problems.
It's true that the Deluxe seat pushes you forward. I sat on a Heritage today and was surprised how much more room I had just because of the seat. I ordered a LePera Bare Bones and I hope this will give me a little more room over the stock seat.
Late heritage seat fits straight on. Cheap enough to find too. But be careful if you buy the deluxe, you might feel the need to throw another 20k at it !... plenty on here have. They look great standard, but stunning when customized.
lawnmowerman is right about the heritage seat i have one on there now and it fits me good but i did have a lepara on it and loved how it sat me it the bike but my back hurt everytime i road im 6' 250
