i had my tire replaced at an indy and when i got home i noticed the same issue, dot opposite the stem and about a 6-8 inch strip of weights now on the rim! i've never had to add weight before and thought it was crazy. anyways, it rode fine and started doing my own replacements so i don't worry about someone else screwing up a job. you should be ok if you don't have any issues riding at various speeds.

something is major wrong to need that much weight. i'm not saying that it isnt balanced, just shouldnt need that much weight.
the other part that i find odd is that it has stick-on weights. your sig picture shows that you have spokes. there are specific weights for spoke wheels. not that the stick-on weights won't work.....steve
