Great stuff here guys. My UPS tracking says my pipes are due late today just in time for a Friday night install. Fire up the Kerosun to warm the garage and ill be all set.
My mount for my left side passenger footpeg isnt going to be long enough now (aftermarket chrome shorty). What does everybody else have? Havent had any luck finding a longer chrome replacement...I need about a 3in peg mount I'm thinking.
I guess 07 and newer are different. I have had 3 sets of Samson's on my bike and the biggest issue was getting the left side pipe connected and the clamp tightened. I got a long ball end allen on a ratchet for that. I tightened everything down and grabbed teh left pipe and pulled up on it until it lined up with the right one.
On my 02 there was no need to change the coil mount bracket. The other issue was getting a shift linkage to work with my Samson's. I heated my linkage and bent it until it fit. I guess I have it easy with an older bike. No issues with the left side primary with stock, or my open primary.
Here were the 36"'s which did not last long.
And the 42"'s. I think you know the rest of teh story.

My bikes a 97 , on the passenger peg I bought a piece metal tubeing about an inch long , painted it black to match the frame. Then bought a longer bolt from ace and just spaced the passenger foot peg away from the frame. Didnt look bad at all and lasted for years with no problems.

I went to the local ACE hardware and bought two chrome spacers and longer grade 8 bolts. They spaced the rear pegs out to a reasonable position. ACE has a pretty good selection of chrome hardware drawers that no where else seems to have.

I run a solo seat and have no intentions on running a 2up. I got rid of the floorboards... Sorry I can't be of any help but I agree with the ACE hardware route. They do have a huge selection of random chrome things that could work out.
Got my Friday night and Saturday planned: UPS just dropped off my pipes. Woot!
Awesome! But make sure you look everything over before you install anything. I had a burr on one of my mufflers and they chromed over it. They sent a new muffler out to replace that one and it actually showed up worse than the first one. I was told that once it is on the bike, they are a little harder to deal with. Just a little heads up. Not saying they won't help you out, but just what I heard.
