Had mine for about 4 months now - they get louder as they break in.
Funny that you mention this, because I also been noticing that My pipse get louder after an hour of riding. I mean when I first fire it up they sound very Low and deep. Then the nice loud crackle comes in to affect. I forgot to mention that. I hope they do stay loud after the Break in Period.Any one know what the Break in period is for The Big Radious?? I'll try to post before and after video of my pipse with sound. Any one know how?? Hahahaha, Sorry newbee here. Thnx for the replys Hogsters!!!!!
My Samson II, Rip Saws are incredibly loud. They come without baffles. A few months ago, while I still had a little bit of hearing left,I installed Khrome Werks HP drag pipe baffles. The exhaust volume is still louder than 90 percent of the Harleys on the road.

Wife's got the Big Radius on her SEFB and they are very loud to me and a lot louder than my big shot longs on my deluxe....But that is JMHO....Enjoy what ever you get....
I have the big radius on my night train as well and I didnt think they were that loud either. That was until I swapped rides and rode next to my bike. Jeez those things are loud. The way the shoot down and away its tough to judge how loud they really are when you are riding.
Cheers,
Chris
Yes, the Big Radius have baffles. They are removable, however doing so will kill your low and mid range hp/tq, not to mention allow more air flow which could lean out your A/F ratio.
I may be wrong but doesn't V&H's make a half baffle to give you louder pipes without loss of torque?

You used to be able to order them straight off the V&H website. I don't see them there now. May have something to do with the EPA crackdown. However, if you look at the f.a.q. page, they mention a "competition" baffle. I'm not sure if they sell it or not though....
