Default Engine Guard 49004-00 and 49004-00a Any Difference

Any difference in engine guard 49004-00 and 49004-00a? My research shows 49004-00a supersedes -00, and both say they fit 2000 and later softails. Different diameter tubing, or different mounting bracket?

a just denotes a minor adjustment in the original.. They probably changed the bolts or a washer... The actual guard would be the same or they would have given it a different part number.

Agree,,, usually having the (a) at the end means it will be better or fit better.

In the $4K parts I have bought off the wall for our bike I have NEVER had a HD part that didn't fit or work perfectly. And after 7yrs every part still looks like the day I put i one..
