New rims wouldn't line up so picked up a spacer and it cleared it nice..plenty of room now. The 0.2" spacer did the trick so I'll return the other one.
Got Kuryakyn's breather and plate mount and powdered them. I like some of their stuff cuz it's affordable and looks pretty good. Just their chrome isn't great.
Scored Cobra's FI2000 Powerpro from J&P. This was a scratch-n-dent item for only $275!! Normally sell for $600. Been wanting one for a while and was waiting to replenish the funds. But looking at them last Sunday this one popped up and couldn't pass it up. In this game you gotta save $$ where you can...
Had some scratches on my bars from the last bike..got rearended and the wrecker driver put hooks on them to tie the bike down before I could stop him. He only got this side so I didn't want to re-powder them so the GF said to use nail polish. Also used it on some fasteners I used to plug some frame holes...
Got the Heartland covers for the rear cuz they look the best in my opinion..of the small group of folks who even make covers for the rear of Rockers. Tried like hell to replace the overly large nut HD uses on the axle so I could cut these covers down for a more flush look. This is a very unique bolt. It was a task that was taking far too long so I gave up for now.
Found these front covers at Josh's Boar's Nest here in Oceanside, CA. He designed and makes these. I think they're killer and they're high quality...and for only $70 a set!
Went up to Monrovia to trade out a headlight I'd gotten for a newer chromed one and get the components to set up a sweet headlight. Visited with Julie (one of the owners) and toured the facility. Great place and excellent people! Got a killer deal and they even worked with me on the mounting block..let me return my original and get a better fitting one with a full refund!!
They're pricey and I'm not a fan of that but they've got supper-high quality stuff and their customer service is awesome (which sucks these days). If it isn't right..they make it right. I mean..I returned a bucket that was made in 2003 and they gave me a new one for only $50!! And they had the only headlight that had the style and size I wanted..
Moved the wiring over the motor to the top of the backbone. Got lots of room with the 2.5in lift kit on the tank so didn't want to see all that wiring hanging. Wanted to clean it up too so plugged the harness clip holes with some black colored plugs I got at Ace Hardware.
Put some clear tape on the headlight mounting surfaces. Not sure if it will work but trying to avoid the scratches and chrome peal that come with chrome-on-chrome mounting. Just wanna make it last a lil longer if I can...
Off the floor jack and up on the lift for the final adjustments and finishing touches.
Had to have my neighborhood garage-machine-shop mill off a little material from the front brake caliper and the spacers for the front fender so they would line up. He's the same one who drilled my front rims and foot controls. Doesn't know anything about bikes but is an amazing machinist and loves a challenge.
