Everything can be hooked up under the speedo housing. Pink wire is taped back for the tach pic-up. 3 wires total, pos, neg, and pick-up. Pretty simple....steve

Well, I am the current high bidder for a Screamin Eagle speedo/tach combo unit. Hopefully I win it and we put this one to bed. If I am out bid, I will probablly get bummed and just buy the handlebar mounted tach. Fingers crossed!!!
I've always wanted to make one of have one made. I curretly have the one that sits above the handlebars and it's fairly largish and looks a little out of place with the minimalist approach I'm taking.
My idea is to get one that attached to the risers like the current one I have now, but have it go below the bars. I would like to have it about 3/4" wide and have LEDs to represent the RPMs and an LED for a shift light. Would be complicated though...
That's one helluva Fatty you've got there. A combo unit would complement it nicely.
I happen to like the looks of the analog combo units over the digital ones.
Here's mine on my 2012 Heritage
I liked this one enough to order. Except I ordered mine in all black. Parts guy said I should have b4 end of this week. The install should take 15-20 minutes according to HD service dude
I like the look of those, but the numbers are too small for my old eyes. At one time, the type like mstngjoe's was made for '04-'06, but no longer. Keep hoping one shows up on eBay from NOS someone has found.
Bikerlaw, the parts guys at my local dealer were nice enough and smart enough to trace the exploded view back to the wire tip/connector that goes into the harness, maybe yours will do the same.
