Every year I say I am going, every year it comes and goes and I worked straight through it. This year medical issues kept me from going. I have to start learning how to have fun. My whole life has been spent caring and giving for or to others. Life is to short and I just need to start pulling the trigger on some of these things to do, I need a bucket list. Question, does Florida have a helmet law?
No helmet law in Fl. Just got back and had a blast, we were there Saturday afternoon thru Monday noon and I could have done with one more day (ok 2 more days). Loved every minute.
Hey T bone Tony,
No helmet law in Florida....but having seen grey matter with the local minor crashes, I always wear mine. I know its not as cool, but it may let me ride longer. It's a free country. I'm pretty sure there is a law that you must carry some minimum limits of insurance that you show if you're stopped and not wearing one.
This bike week has been extended to 10 days. Word is that Biketoberfest will get extended too.<a href="http://s1300.beta.photobucket.com/user/tweiner1/media/LOOOPGreatPicsLOOP_zps4301c119.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1300.photobucket.com/albums/ag94/tweiner1/LOOOPGreatPicsLOOP_zps4301c119.jpg" border="0" alt="Riding the Daytona Loop photo LOOOPGreatPicsLOOP_zps4301c119.jpg"/></a>
Great to hear you had fun. There is some great roads to travel down here. Not to mention the Cabbage Patch Cole Slaw wresting tomorrow, The No Name Saloon in Edgewater had the Pudding Wrestling on Saturday.
Cool and I was just curious. I would never knock anyone for wearing a helmet. I personally have never wore one in my nearly 40 years of riding but thats only because I never had too. Don't they get super hot in the summer? Well Florida just started my bucket list. I have friends down there I have not seen in years.
I just drive faster!! Our temps in Daytona are pretty temperate. Tomorrow am will be 51 in the am and getting up to 71 by noon. During the Summer we get some 90's, but it's not Hot and Muggy like South Florida.
The first weekend was pretty light by old timer standards. A lot of vendors seem to be waiting to show up for as long as possible to reduce thier costs.
Monday night had a main street that was really packed. Still, you could get to Main Street without waiting to get ON to the bridge from the mainland... which means it still has a ways to go. If the attendance keeps climing like I saw it increase, it would be the largest ever... but it has a ways to go.
