Default cables rubbing fork cover

As the title says im havin an issue with the brake and throttle cables rubbing against the back of the fork cover and its started to rub off the paint. I talked to a couple dealerships and both pretty much told me they got nothing for it. The throttle cable will even hit the tank in full lock and left a mark but luckily it buffed out. Anybody know a way to keep the cables off the paint?

Not sure in your model exactly but some well placed black zip ties work really well to secure cables and look factory since the moco uses same thing.

Since they're running so close to your brake line, which is already cinched down with p-clamps, why not just ty-wrap them to it, even loosely - or just get a bigger p-clamp and bind them all. That wouldn't change the position of the throttle cable hardly at all.

I had to add one on the left side for my clutch cable after I added risers for the same reason. I didn't want it rubbing off the new PC.

I found them at Lowe's in a lot of different sizes...

That was my first thought but was told at the dealer that the throttle cable needs some kind of free motion. Is this true?

I'm sure it is, but you're not likely to bind anything up just by lifting them off your paint.
I just turned my bars full stop in both directions and the throttle cable never moved away from that top brake p-clamp.

Mine has two tapped holes on back side of trees the the black solid no metal nylon p-clips attach to. Keeps them off tank. Then the front has another clamp that attaches to bottom of tree. I added a couple black zip ties with the release tabs that make them reusable. They are neat and trim. Certain areas the dealer is right about cable needs to move but the nylon p-clip can actually be tight and still let cable slide.

Had the same problem. I bought some 3m paint protection film and put a small piece where the cable rubs. Problem solved.
