Default cable routeing

I am just now putting my bike together after being apart for a verrrrrrrrrrrrry long time of being apart. I know the maintenance manual says that the thottle and idle cables are routed between the forks, however pictures I have of the bike before taking apart the cables were routed outside of the forks. Does it make any difference where the cables are routed???? chime in as to where your cables are routed............

The drag bars on my project bike left me with throttle cables that were too long. So I rerouted mine around the frame neck and behind the forks vs. replacing them. The cables now enter from the left side vs. the right as originally routed. I think it looks better (cleaning up the view), the throttle works just fine and I saved $$$$.

Glad you like ... no paint. I used a very rough Scotch Brite pad. You can buy them @ Lowes or Home Depot in the paint section. Just be sure to rub in one direction and avoid swirl marks, like you would sand a piece of wood.

Mine were a little short and they said it could be routed behind the forks or buy cables that were a couple inches longer.
