I have tried to turn handle bar from end to end, enough slack so no worries for now. Yes, I might be getting some cables one day I hate them.

I would get the length as close to the stock look as possible.
Here's how my stock cables looked after putting the 14" bars on.
I have since put a new black braided clutch cable and black braided brake line on. I'll change the throttle and idle cables someday but they are fine for now.
I work at a shop and if someone asked me that this is what I would say- you can......but im not gonna do it for you hah.
If I was you man, just get new ones. once you bend those tips, they will eventually break or kink which is gonna fray your cable. just do it right and get the new cables.
