After much deliberation, I decided to order a Bare Bones seat for my Blackline. Lepera is releasing a new version for the Blackline and Slim that should be ready for shipping in April. I am going with black leather with the '57 pleats (pictured in brown leather below).
Also, I have to say that dealing with LePera has been a great experience so far. They were happy to take my call, called back when promised, and sent me the catalog, leather samples, and stitching samples quickly. I was already sold on service, but then I saw the new seats I was blown away. It looks like they have more new stuff coming out, so it might be worth ordering their catalog if you are in the market for a new seat.
Anyway, I didn't see these new seats posted, so for your viewing pleasure, here they are....
It's not a bad seat. The looks can't be beat but the comfort gets beat by upside buckets every day. Still, it's an acquired feel, and merely lowering your standards of comfort will help it to gain acceptance in your life.
I still like mine though, my only issue is the "fender slide" on hard take offs, but it looks like they solved that on the new seats by turning the back up a bit off the fender. I've thought about covering mine in velcro.......
Good looking seat on the blackline though, post up some pics when you get it!
