@RIP...def PRO fender unless just for show. personally, i like the idea of just a larger spoke wheel with a black hoop. maybe even some diamond cut spokes. idk. still gotta be cheaper than changing both wheels and then all the other things you will change to adapt the bike to fit the look of the alloys. but hey, thats just me.
The only I'll need to run the alloy wheels are bearings and a spacer for the front. A cost of about $50 for everything. As for everything else, we all know I'll never be "done" with her.

I've considered the option of just the front wheel, but to be honest, the wire wheels scare me anymore. Had a serious issue which has prompted me to expedite this process.

You're the third person that has asked me. The other two people actually approached me to ask on person. No, I'm not going to sell any pert off the bike. Every take off has been stored away, to include my stock headlight and tail light.

Is there a reason the people ask? Is it a rare wheel size or something?

Wow, some good reading here. Wheels, I like the 21/18 set up. Roland Sands makes an awesome product so you can't go wrong with your choice of wheels. Keep the vision from start to finish or you will spend a ton of money and have a whack of parts on the shelf that you'll never get your money back on. It takes a lot of time and cash to get it the way you want it, took me 5 years. Burly lowering kit, I happen to like the look but as always I caution about the stress it puts on your neck bearings as your shock damper will have less travel and once you move up to a bigger wheel it will be the weight to consider, your shock will do less dampening and more like gassing. I have had the kit for two years and last year my Vtwin riser bolts sheared off at highway speeds and my choices of aftermarket parts contributed to the failure of the bolts. With the burly kit coupled with a heavy front wheel and little travel on that damper when you ride any distances you could put stress on the neck bearings. Although I run the burly kit I'm not convinced its the "best" option. Thug cycles is where your pic of the bones with the fender and 21. I sent my fender to them and they remounted the bracket underneath the fender and reused the stock hardware. As far as running a fender, it's choice, Ive rode 10000 km without one and I don't plan on putting it on. My bike is a daily rider and I'm headed again to Sturgis which is a 3200km jaunt from my home. Yes, water or **** could hit you in the taste buds. I tie a bandana on my forks to stop the rooster tail if I'm caught in something. Yes I've been caught in rainstorms but even with big fenders you're getting wet. Thanks for the heads up skeez I will watch for those nasty portocans.

RIP, there is a Crossbones in the pic section running those wheels if you look for it. Thanks for the kind words too.
I'm going to send another email to Fox Shocks and Rock Shox to see if they will engineer a cool front shock that has the travel and will take the beating a heavier wheel can do.

Yes, it is hard to find a 17x6 200 rear spoke wheel. They are out there but a lot of people with slotted mag rear 200mm rear wheels would like a spoke to match the front and the Crossbones rear is a direct bolt on.

The first part scares me to be completely honest. I never thought about the extra stress on the bearings with the lowering kit and the larger wheel. The other side to that is the feeling of the larger wheel without it. The looks are no doubt killer, but it seems that holds true in more than one way.

Does the front really NEED the lowering kit to work right with that wheel? Seems maybe this isn't a path I'd like to travel if that we're the case...

Pics of the fender would be cool. Any cutting/welding at all, new parts, or just creative mounting?

I've never looked in the pics section, I'll go see if I can find something. And I don't see them as kind words, merely expressing my approval in your style lol.

Keep my posted about the shocks, might be something to consider. I was planning on buying the wheels in about 2 weeks, but it seems there is more to this than I realized.

I dont think they will look bad if you go in the right direction like some of the bikes in the pics posted with similar wheels and springer front.
