You should bring those plugs in with your receipt.
It clearly states that they put new plugs in at the 10k service.
I bet they're just gonna say that they must have missed it and they'll throw a couple of $3 plugs in it and call it a day....probably say they're sorry for the inconvenience.
My question would be...if they missed something as simple as plugs, what else did they miss??
Did they change the oil? Transmission fluid? Adjust the clutch? etc......
I hear you that's my other concern...I've bought three bikes from these clowns in the last 3 years..and I just took 3 of my buddies there and bought 1 street glide and 2 road glides..don't they realize they make most of there money on service? Poor ownership & management.
Maintenace schedules vary from model to model and from year to year. Mind you not to accuse your dealer without certainty. Yes, they might have been wiser to change the plugs but, if it is not part of the program they would have had to charge you extra. You might have been happy to pay up but I'm sure some would come on here claiming to have been ripped off.

Well if someone is going to complain about buying a couple of 10.00 spark plugs then I guess they don't care about there bike. If you can afford a Harley then I hope to god you can afford plugs...I'm going to hammer them regardless for the simple reason that I feel you should call the customer and ask them if they want them to be replaced. It's a joke and its a simple fix my bike won't go in there anymore...
well my bike just started to excel pop from first to second so i figured i would check the plugs and see what is going on and i discovered that maybe my plugs wheren't changed on a 10,000 mile service at harley...i'm a little pissed right now but i blame myself for not checking the work from these guys..i'm done with them it's a shame that they don't care about service...by the way i dont wash my bike with water and i live in the desert and i haven't had this bike in the rain...you tell me do these look like 1500 miles where put on them??
i'm pretty sure the checklist at harley says replace plugs on a 10,000 mile service..but if they inspected those and thought they where ok well that answers itself..i haven't changed them yet i'm going to tonight. My point is these *** clowns are a joke and i'm calling them out on it...my guess these are the original plugs
Did you buy your Deluxe new? You indicated that these are likely the original plugs. You also stated, in not so many words, that water hasn't touched your bike. How do you explain what looks like rust on the plugs?
I certainly understand your anger. Still, 10k miles seems a little early to be replacing spark plugs. It's not to say they shouldn't have been inspected. I agree with you that if they don't normally change them at 10k but do inspect them, it deserves a call to the owner to give them the opportunity to replace them if they need it.
My manual states to replace at 20K as well. Either way, it's nothing to get excited about. If the bike runs well, there's no value in replacing them sooner. It's not going to make the bike last longer, or anything like that.
Replacement intervals on cars are often around 50 thousand miles. Traditional tuneups and plug change intervals are a thing of the past, with modern ignitions.

I hope your not surprised...That's why I ONLY go to a top notch indept. HD mechanic I found. HD ONLY cares about the money...I could write a book...My brothers and my brand new bikes after the 1000 mile checkup, we pulled our plugs to change to iridiums...all 4 of our plugs were not even close to be gapped in spec (like HD could care...). They were all brand new and set randomly between 31-34, probably just as they popped off the spark plug MFG line...This is after it was built at the factory, set up at the dealers and after the 1000 mile checkup...I LOVE MY bike, but would NEVER buy another HD and I would not give them 5 cents of my money...ever. IF THEY CAN'T GAP A PLUG RIGHT TO MEET THEIR OWN "CRITICAL" SPECS, HOW CAN THEY BE TRUSTED TO DO THE HARD STUFF...LIKE CAM SHOES, PRESSED CRANKS, ETC.?
Ps That new Indian 111" motor looks like it is going to be a high quality low maintenance monster!!
