I have 2 different quick detach windshields for my Deluxe. A taller one and a short one. The short one I had blacked out with car window tinting film. The only time either has been on my bike was when mounting to make sure they worked and everything was on and lined up right. They have been in the closet ever since along with the 2 rear seats I have, the padded sissy bar and my bags. I think my bike goes from sweet to ugly in no time flat when I put any of that stuff on. It's nice to know it's there if I ever want to take off but other than that, you won't ever see it on my bike. The wind vest slightly has my attention. I could see myself using that around town or out in the country, maybe.

Sometimes off, most times on.

I rode for a few years without a WS, even took some long road trips without one. But once I got one, it hardly ever came off. Even on short trips, at dusk the bugs can be breathtaking - literally!

I can't stand the look of the WS on my bike, but it's either function or form, and function seems to rule out.

The first thing I did to my 2010 Heritage the day I bought it was take the windshield off. Haven't used it since.

The wind buffeting is too uncomfortable, and yes I've tried a taller one, a shorter one, fangs, different helmet - you name it. The wind is constant and comfortable. IMO

Less than 150 to 200 mile ride = no windshield. Longer than that, or multi-day trip, I use the "shield. It all comes down to personal preference.

Where I live, the afternoon gusts can be 360. Once I got the Freeway bars...it felt like a knife in butter. Long trips and cold weather I will still use mine. If I dont, then I feel like I went 15 rounds at the end of the day and dehydrated....mixing tired with beers kind of sux.

The only on reason I would take the windshield off any bike is for looks but any practical riding I would prefer a windshield.

This taking the windshield on and off is way too much work ...I just have one bike with a windshield ...one without...much easier...now where did I put my beer
