I tried cry ice on a dent i had, and it did not work, but I did not heat with a blow dryer. I just left it in the sun for a while in the summer. It is worth a try. I think the ice was 5 bucks...
This is the 2nd time in a week someone had a bike fall over when warming it up on the driveway.
I've never had any problems with my Japanese street bikes. But I'm not really confident with the Jiffy Stand. Yes it does lock into a notch in the frame but it never looks like it's all the way in. Last week my bike fell from the the stand not locking into place.I was luckyto be standing next to the bike at the timeand was able to lift it back up. No damage.
After reading these threads I thinktwice about walking away from the bike when warming it up.
Thanks for the opinions everyone. I decided to not pay to have the tank repaired because I was fortunate enough to find a brand new tank on ebay from a dealership in New Mexico for $150. Never taken out of thepackaging other than to have the pictures taken for ebay. Nothing like saving 600 bucks versus paying over $700 to order a new tank from my local dealership.
