Default tach/speedo confusion

Hey all i just picked up a new in the box 70900071 combo. The dealer where it came from says its the same as the 70900071 and will work on my 05 Deluxe just fine. I see the 71 as fitting 08-10 and the 71A fitting my particular bike. Can anyone please help me figure this out?!?!?! Dont wanna start fooling with it if its the wrong part! Teflon

My apologies. I didn't look close enough. Too much of a hurry. "A" is for '04-'10 Softail. Does kinda look like they're interchangeable, doesn't it?

ok so to help anyone else who runs into this problem. I went to the dealer today and browsed their computer (their good like that) it shows both gauges and says both will fit an 05 deluxe. Computer says it was a minor change that added the A code to the part# did not affect the gauge. So it looks like the catalog is wrong both gauges are basically the same and will fit fine. Teflon
