Do you know if the "mud flap is expensive? I don't want to move the light but was thinking I want the plate moved. So I was going to cut the plate flap off. But if I change my mind.......how much will HD charge me for a new one?
Don't worry bout it. As long as you take your time you can't possibly end up with anything uglier than the stock setup.
I'm looking at the DMV site but having no luck. Anyone know if I have to have an illuminated plate? Do I need white light on it? I'm in CA. I plan on using a side mount plate but without any lights on it - I'll leave the stock taillight in place.
I know a lot of sport bies put their plates up in the wheel-well. They aren't lit up so I assume I don't need that. Want to make sure before I cut this thing.
bensonjv,
I do not have bags, so I'm not sure if it would interfere. If you had smaller bags like 1deuce3 it might work, otherwise I would do something like djohnston. I measured from the center of the axle nut to the top of the tag mount and it is 3.5" ifthat helps you any.
