Since I have treat left on the front tire I plan on buying another Dunlap. Hopefully with a better tread pattern. Once they are gone I will give the Michelins a try. I know how well Avon's work. While Avons don't have high mileage tires I feel a lot safer on them.

I use only Michelins on my vehicles so hopefully they will do the job on the bike.

I have 8200 miles on the rear Dunlap and it needs to be changed. I think that is about average.

When I go to the Michelins I will post back on my thoughts. As always everything is subjective to riding styles, weight etc. LOL

I replaced my orig dunlop on the back with a metz me880 on my 07 FB at 8500 miles. the metz tire was way better in handling both in the rain and cold payment. i never felt the *** end want to come out in turns on reg pavement or the white crosswalk bars in the rain. i could never trust the dunlops in wet conditions. The Metz went 8k before i replaced it. it could have went another 1k or so, but it was deer rut season and i was doing some early winter wheel work so i went ahead and replaced it and the orig frt dunlop tire with michelin commander II's. not that i didn't like the metz, it handled great and never chopped out like the dunlop did. The mich was getting good reviews and was boasting double the mileage of the factory tire. if i can get 15-16k out of a 200/55-17 tire i will be extremely happy. so far i've put about 2k on the mich and it still has the center mold line in it. it handles great in the wet and on cold pavement also like the metz did.

One of my riding partners has 15K on a 200/55/17 Commander II on his Ultra. Still plenty of tread left too.

I have 6300 mi's on my '12 Deluxe. yesterday I notced the rear is about bald. I had a 2006 Road King prior to this that I ran E-3's on. I always got about 11,000 or 12,000mi.
I have had over a dozen m/c and always got at least 10,000. I would be switching to another type of tire but the WWW limit my choices. Not happy with this and wonder if anyone has any idea on longer lasting www tires. Love the WWW's.

I have Commander II's on my sons Sporty. The Dunlops only lasted 5k miles and the Commanders have 3k on them and the look like new. They handle great and are very good in the rain. The Dunlops were bad in the rain, dry pavement and mileage. When my tires wear out you know what tire I am putting on.

What is it that U don't like with the LOps.????...

I had them on my Heritage for the first 40k.. Maybe not the best, but the weren't all that bad either...

I just put on a set of Mich's Commander II's front and rear last fall.. I do like them a little better..

The tread design of them dont follow road grooves like the lops..
but they do have a bit firmer ride....

so far in the 2k I've put on them,, I am not use they will get the mileage as claimed

Time will tell. I just hope I can get at least 10k out of the rear as I did on the (401) lops..

If not I'll probably go back to the the Lops...

The 402 rear on my standard went bald around 9k, Front at 8k/ I replaced both with 404s and love em. Great wet and cold grip, very noticeable difference. Probably get 6-7k out of it (3k on it now). But for about $200 a set, it still a pretty good deal IMO. Not as high of a weight rating though, if thats a concern for you..

Cobras on my Heritage. Only got them last year so they only have about 5k o them at the moment. Sticky is good, that is what gives you grip, so I don't have a problem with them wearing out quicker that Dunlops

just to be different, I am finishing up a MC II with about 9K on the rear of the Heritage. It was better mileage than the Dunlops, but I am going back to them. The MC IIs were OK handling for me, flet slick in the rain. I feel like the Dunlops are a little better in the rain and just felt better to me than the Michelins. I wouldn't run away from the Michelins, nor say don't get them. Nothing more than a feel for me and difficult to define. I didn't really care for the sidewall design on the Michelins either. Incidently, I ride a 10 Heritage and get 5-6K out of a rear Dunlop. My 2 cents
