Just putting together an order with J+P to put 12" Apes on my 2011 Fatboy. Just wondering what length upper ABS line is needed. Is there a harley part that will work? I think the heritage unit is longer than the fatboy. Would that work? Im ordering the cables +6 Barnett stealth.
All in the parts are coming in around $500 delivered to Ireland as opposed to my buddy who dropped the equivalent of $2000 to have a set of 16"s fitted at the local dealership.
Cool, thanks. I'll stick a 42" line and fittings on to the order and I'm good. I'll still need to bring it to the dealer to bleed the ABS but that should be it.
I can tell you that with 14" Apes I had to with a 44" upper ABS line on my 2011 fatboy lo.
Just looking at those bars now has me thinking! What cables, wiring extensions did you need to buy? Did you use the stock riser? I think they would look great on the FB. Would really prefer 16s but I dont think they suit the squat lines of the FB and the 12s dont look a million miles from stock height so 14s might be the way to go.
I went with LA Chopper 1.25 14" hefty bars on the stock risers. 10" namz extention, 44" Magnumsheilding universal brake line with 7/16 35 deg banjo on top and 180 straight Banjo on the bottom.
Magnum Black Pearl 44" SCII Universal Brake Line (4544)
Length: 44"
Magnum Clutch cable
BLACK PEARL 70-11/16" SOFTAIL 07-10, #422214HE
Here are the only pics I have right now to give you an Idea. Notice that my brake line is not hooked up yet. Waiting to get home again to install the new 44" line.
Magnum are looking for $150 to ship UPS to Ireland! Ive shipped a rolling chassis US to Ireland for double that! Must be heavy cables. When an item arrives in Ireland the customs will then take 21% duty on the combined goods AND shipping. That brings the price for the cables to $425. I might shop around a bit more.
