The ones I heard last week.. Not too bad.
I had (key word "had") the big shot shorts and I can tell you I think you've made the better decision to go with the staggereds for sound and for performance.
Running Rineharts now and personally, they're my pick of the litter.. Very deep (small block chevy v8) kind of sound.. very classic harley tone without being as obnoxious as unbaffled drags. More deep bump bump and less crack.
The V&H Big Shot Staggereds would be on the short list of best pipes. Big classic sound, belchy at idle, a bit on the loud side. Have them on my Softail. Preceding said, the V&H 2-1 ProPipe HS is a slightly higher performing pipe and the sound is deeper and lower. Have this pipe on the Dyna. But the 2-1 look isn't for everyone.
I have the big shot shorts on my bike and love them. It looks good especially if you have a chrome rear swing arm. I like the sound too. Yes, They are loud when you get on it. Although it is not bad at idle. I ride off at 5am here in my hood and nobody has complained yet.
After hearing both (the big shot staggered standard baffle and quite baffle) side - by - side, the quite baffles sound better and have a deeper tone. That's what I put on my 05 Fboy
