The Fatboy is to me a big chunky steamroller of a bike

Steamroller? Maybe!

Klunky??? I dont think so

How about "Beefy"?

Lets say its a big beefy steamroller of a bike.
Since its lighter and more streamlined than a heritage classic with saddlebags, windshield, passing lamps
and a full fender, I'm not sure how one could see a Fat Boy as klunky but not a heritage.

Dont get me wrong, if there was no such thing as the Fat Boy I'd be riding a Heritage right now. I do like em.
Just like the Fat Boy more. Its cleaner
Misquote.. I said "chunky" and not "klunky".
Klunky was my old '90 model heritage that needed a frame up rebuild, hehe.. Now that was klunky.

Just put new tires on Arleen's 2001 Heritage, and she went with the Wide White Walls this time.

Here is a pic of her "Klunky/Chunky" Heritage with the new tires.

Regards,

Bill

Yeah... They don't strike me quite that way anymore. hehe. Especially when you add a windshield and or bags.
Plus being on the road for 15 years, we're kind of used to the look.. "Oh there goes another of harley's best selling bike".

The old original silver/gray 1990 model was quite a stir when the Fatboy hit the scene.
You know what I mean... Everyone had an initial "wow" or "holy smokes" the first time they saw the Fatboy.
That's kind of the impression I get now when I look at Russell Mitchell's bikes.

Eh.. Let's go ride!!! [sm=groupwave.gif]

Now those are klunky and industrial looking

They even have a model called the steamroller. Another one called the Bulldozer.
Its funny, I'm not sure if I like those or not. From some angles they look really cool, and from other angles they look too...
too... too....I dunno. Too...something.

Hey, would just a little bit of chrome hurt them????

Oh absolutely NO chrome (or very minimal) on those Exiles.
But see the total contrast in bikes.. Check out Bills COOL Heritage.. Nice chrome classic look.. It screams "Classic Harley Coolness!

Compared to this one that boasts 'anti-chrome' toughness. Completely different design concepts.
