Fatboy vs. Heritage Classic = same?
Instead of the Fatboy.. It's the Fat Bloke... The Fatboy's European Cousin. hehe [sm=icon_guiness.gif]

Did you have any issues with the heritage saddlebags on the fatboy? I have a shot of a new set of hertage saddlebags for 500 in the box from the local dealer. Will they mount up easily,,,,I know I can use the ghost brackets UK-104.
Thanks,

Remember with larger bags on fatboys, you will probably have to get the signals off the struts which I'm in the process of doing when my license plate bracket shows up and my crimp tool for the signals.
Mounting.. The old and the new heritage bags have steel brackets on the back of them.. Bubbasbrake.com has a heritage detach kit, I believe. You might not care for the bags being further out from the fender strut as result. Also, I think someone else showed me a while back that the heritage struts and strut cover have an extra stud mount for heritage bags that is covered up on the fatty.. So you might run into trouble there.. I'd hold one up to your scoot to find out if it'll fly or not.
Alternatives.. hmmm.. for $500ish.. For that amount, I'd throw in leatherworks bags for a little competition.. Pro's.. probably a good bit better leather, option for cargo straps ontop, made to work with easybrackets for easy fatboy mount-up.. Con's, you gotta move the taillights to mount the larger bags still, and you're really looking at more around $6-700ish.. but made very well from what I've read/seen online.
I wrestled with all these choices and bit the bullet and went with the best I could find, with disregard to quick detachability...

Hope all this helps.
TGIF!
But I'm sure this would apply to any Harley if you added the quick disconnect windshield, bags, and backrest/storage rack.

If I had it to do all over again, I'd have never bought my standard. I would have gone with the Heritage or Street Glide. I'm happy with my bike, but it's cost $$$$ to get it there.
