Some of the 50-60's Harley panheads were some pretty bikes, but I can honestly say The Deluxe is one of the best looking Harleys ever made. Get a Deluxe my friend. You wont regret it. IMO, the Heritage has too much clutter on it.

Never had a problem with aftermarket parts fitting. Most things that say won't fit is because of the stock pipes on the deluxe

i dont think you can go wrong either way, how ever i can take the clutter off my heritage and it looks like a deluxe. As size goes the Heritage looks way bigger than it rides, if you can touch the ground you can ride it.

It is all about what you want and what you are willing to spend. They are very similar looking bikes with the looks being a bit more refined on the deluxe. The heritage is the only softail that comes with windshield, saddlebags, and backrest. You can't go wrong with either.

Well with either one, be prepared to spend some $ getting it the way you want.
Question is what do you plan on you rides being, local or someplace you may need to bring along a change of clothing?

On longer rides you may appreciate the windshield.

All that being said, I've a Deluxe, added extended saddlebags and have a detachable windshield.

Get the bike you like most and make it yours.

go with the heritage. You can take all the "clutter" off, and you'll have it when you need it. Anyway, they're pretty much the same bike...

Doesn't really matter. If you buy a Deluxe, you'll have it looking like a Heritage in no time at all. If you buy a Heritage, you'll have it looking like a Deluxe. Either way, you will make so many modifications that it will likely not be the same bike you started with. Just a word of caution, either one will drain your wallet. You will be like a zombie or a drug addict, looking for that extra bit of chrome or other piece you just gotta have. Don't go by what we say. Have them side by side, sit on them, drool on them, and only you will make the final determination.

I purchased a Heritage because I wanted the bags and windshield on my ride. You will have to pony up some more money if you want the bags and windshield. In hindsight should have purchased the Deluxe because I changed my ride, I added pipes, bags and new seat. So depends on what you want to do with your ride, pick the one that suits you.....
