Default Sissy bar suggestions please

I've just bought a fatboy. I intend to chop the rear fender just behind the pillion mounting hole, removing the fender strut covers and using just the raw fender struts underneath.

The law in the UK regarding licence plate positioning effectively makes side-mounts illegal. Although many get away with it, I don't want to attract any unnecessary attention from the law, if you know what I mean.

My idea is to fit a sissy bar. Either a very short one, or something that looks like the Harley "one-piece". Then I can mount the plate on the back of the bar together with tail/brake light.

The problem is that all the bars I have seen either need that rear-most mounting point from the strut cover (which would be missing; leaving just the forward two) or mount on the pillion seat points (and look crap when the seat isn't there, not to mention that I distrust them structurally.

Does anybody know of a sissy bar that mounts on the fender struts at the front points without requiring the rear-most mountpoint? I'm happy to adapt bolts etc, but would rather avoid fabricating the whole thing if possible.

Check out the sissy bars from Gintz Choppers. Their bars are excellent, but can't recall the different mounting brackets they sell. Also, take a look at the sissy bar from Shadetree Fabrications They make one that mounts to the rear axle, requiring only two mounting holes on the fender or strut. Both are very nice.

Thanks! I'll check them out, but it is a bit difficult trying to find mounting information on those websites!

Ginz mounts just like a HD product or detachable. Needs two mounting points.
