As I'm building my 2013 FB Lo, I was convinced I didn't need to spend the money for a Power Vision and could get by with a micro tuner. I was wary of any tuner install since I'm OK doing most mods myself but clueless if it involves me doing any electric work or placing an electric unit.
Once I realized there was NO install of a PV to pay a dealer for or worry about doing it myself, the added costs were easy to swallow.
When my PV2 arrived yesterday, the unit's box inside the shipping box was damp so I made a call to Fuel Moto who immediately said they were sending another unit by FedEx. The contents being damp was strange and was assured FM didn't understand either. Nevertheless, without hesitation or discussion FM had another coming to me.
i just picked up a pv for my bike from FM as well pretty cool and so far good service. I purchased the dual license so my father inlaw could add to his bike also.
Perhaps this doesn't belong here, but I am such a noob... My questions is: if I install a PV, do I still need to pay for a dyno tune?
There is an autotune feature on the powervision software where you have your tune... log a run... and the log changes the tune... Before i would send my logs to Jamie at fuelmoto and he would e-tune and send it back... I did an auto tune on his tune.... still had some decel pop and sent it back and asked him to retune it... he sent it back... I think dyno tuning would be best but even the dyno tuners around me just asked me why?
Thank you Elizer for taking the time, you guys are the best.
<"but even the dyno tuners around me just asked me why?"> does this mean that there always is going to be some decel pop? no matter what kind of tuning you do?
No you can virtually eliminate decel pop. Unfortunately i changed out my exhaust and i get it now... fuel moto sent me a revised tune from my log and havent had a chance to test it.
After a cam change purchased a Power Vision from Fuel Moto and the map jamie installed on it worked fine. Top end and tune are in the works. FMs has very good customer service.
