Riding along this weekend - couple hundred miles and my 2005 fatboy and all of a sudden nothing....just coasting now cause the engine is off. I pull it over and flip the ignition and kill switch and I can restart right away. This happened to me about 4 times over the course of the trip. Not going especially fast or slow, up or down hill....ideas?

Wow big can of worms. Check the kill switch for any loose wires or grounds. Look at the Ignition switch for the same thing. It will be a process of elimination to find he problem, check the battery ground and positive cables just to be sure they are tight. Hope this helps.

Also next time it quits try just the ignition switch and then the kill switch. If that does not show the culprit the next time it quits try the kill switch first then the ignition switch. It might point you in the right direction.
I think it's one of your switches to. I had something similar and it was my start switch. Sixty five bucks for a new one. Hint...we cut and soldered the switch on the handlebar. They want you to chase it all the way back under the tank...has worked fine for over a year. Good luck.
Thanks all - I took the right handlebar apart last night and sprayed some electronic cleaner in the switch and added some electronic grease, also sprayed the ignition and switched it back and forth a couple times. Hoping to take it for a spin tomorrow night and see how it goes.
Thanks Bone Doc - I hear ya - could be anything gotta check these things out. The first time it happened I wrote it off to me hitting something and just kept going. After that I was very careful so nope - not me the other few times.
Thanks all for the suggestions. Since I sprayed in the electronics cleaner and add a little electronics grease, no issues. Rode up to Hollister for the rally- all good.
Thanks again.
