I read this on another post about saddlebags, Shield=Leather Fairing=Hard bags. It made perfect sense to me.My bike is a Deluxe and I have been looking at some bb reproduction bags . I really liked these bags from the time I bought my bike. I put the nostalgic windshield on my bike and now have been looking at leather bags. I like the Hog Deluxe leather saddle bags in the Springer style.
When I read windshield looks better with leather bags I agreed and made the decision to go with Hog Deluxe. I know there have been a couple of negative post about them lately but for the quality of bag, the look and overall mid to upper price I am going to give them a try.
I gave them a call and was greeted by a nice lady, I then talked to her Son who will be making the bags and he was equally friendly. I told him about his website being hacked and he informed me that they are working hard on replacing it with a clean site. He informed me that their website being down has really hurt their business. I know about the reputation they have for a long order time but I was quoted about 3 weeks build time. They seemed really grateful to have my business and I hope things come together nicely.
These guys make a really great looking bag and if everything turns out well I hope they get some support from fellow riders because I think for the money they make an excellent bag and we need to keep good Mom and Pop businesses going if they make an excellent product.
If anyone wants to check out their bags their Facebook site is clean.
I will give a full review once the transaction is completed.
