Like the subject line says, what can I do to the 103 while still using 91 Octane?
Pretty annoyed with the power in 6th gear and want to wake the engine up. Right now everything is stock and I'm likely gonna pick up some Rush slip-ons from a guy selling them on Craigslist to hold me over until I determine what's the best thing to do. My budget is fairly large, but I'm not looking to race this thing or anything. So with that, besides an AC/Exhaust and Tune what recommendations can you good folks make.
Thanks for any help!
I'm not sure what you consider a large budget but for the money Fuel Moto is hard to beat. Several of the guys have been very satisfied. Check out their site http://www.fuelmotousa.com/
I really like the build in my signature for my 2010 Heritage. I don't need compression releases and 91 octane is fine. I have more than enough power for the street and am very pleased. Been this way for 20K! Did the work in my garage.

I found that my 103 "wakes up" when I twist the throttle. I have not done anything to mine since I bought it new in March. It will completely stock get me all the speeding tickets I want. I just went on a vacation with it riding two up. Here in Colorado I went over Raton, Red Mountain, Grand Mesa, Vail, Eisenhower using 6th gear at 65 MPH using 7-11 gas with power to spare all the while wondering why people are saying they need to wake up their 103? I'll bet if Harley were to start using engines with 120 cubic inches, there would be people saying they need to wake up their engines.
Interesting thread guys, I have just done stage one and had the first service, its now time to give it the beans. I ride the slim like its a sports bike most of the time and I give the pocket rocket guys a run for their money, its the bloody corners that slow me down but they just join the straight bits up then of I go again.
I may go to cams for the next up in horse power but need advise from you guys first.
A two into one fish tail (old school) would be cool any recommendations ?
The usual Stg1, A good tuner (I really like SERT I've had for 7ys) and Cams will make U smile while in 6th.
The Stg1 did nothing for 6th but it did run better,, The cams is what will wake her up..
I've used 91 without issues, but we can still get 93 at most stations which I use most of the time. also I don't use Ethanol while we still have a choice

Sounds like from your riding style you may want to invest in some good binders before you go looking for any more power. That single disk up front is REAL easy to burn through on your way down the backside of that hill.
I had done stage 1 then put the 255 cams in for stage two. what an improvement. Particularly if you are a guy looking for power through the 4000 rpm range. I do not think this cam was made for high rpm's. I noticed in the chart it's peak performance was around 4000 rpm
