Default 2008 FLSTN front brake pads, how to remove?

After 98000 miles, decided to change out the front pads whether they needed it or not. I have the caliper off but can't seem to get the pads out. I removed the pin. They are being held in place by springs attached to the clips on the back of the pad. How do you get these stupid things off?

You need to push the pistons in so the pad will clear the spring clip. Take the master cylinder cap off and use a c-clamp to compress the pad against the caliper until it's fully seated. The pad should then slide up and allow you to pull it out. You can also pry them out with a screwdriver, just make sure to keep an eye out for where the spring clip lands when it inevitably comes flying out too.
